During my trip to Haiti, there was much anxiety because I did not know what to expect.
The moment I met our ministry partners in Haiti, I felt the warmth and compassion that they have for the people of Haiti. This country in its own way is paradise. It is amazing and sad when you can see the light in the eyes of those who have Jesus Christ in their life, and the emptiness of those who don’t.
The moment we arrived, the girls greeted us with love and kindness. They didn’t even know us! By the end of the first evening, we were all sitting around the table like family singing by candlelight.
Every child I met had a curiosity about what we were doing and loved seeing their pictures "in" my camera. The brightness of their smiles and the shine in their eyes melted my heart.
The people in Haiti have something special inside, they just haven't found Him yet!
It is difficult to find a photo of CJ because she is always behind the camera! She is enthusiastic, adventurous and an avid photographer who says that ever since she returned from her first trip to Haiti in March 2009, she has a deep, God-inspired love for the people there. She longs to return over and over again to photograph, document and share the different aspects of the country she now loves so much – its people, its beauty, its sadness and its needs. We pray God will fulfill that desire for her and use her to raise awareness of and support for His work in Haiti.
