The filth of trash and standing sewage in the tent camps has increased the need for personal cleanliness about a thousand-fold. If disease gets a foothold on people living so close together in such rainy, wet conditions, something of epidemic proportions could be set in motion.
While the rest of the Living Waters for the World team was struggling to install the sump pump
and reservoir, Ruth McRea, LPN, was busy teaching classes on how to make the best use of the clean water it would supply. Numerous people from the nearby camps attended these classes that emphasized the routine use of soap and water for improved health and well-being.
Certificates of completion were awarded to those who attended all of the sessions. Hopefully, the students who attended Ruth's classes will pass on the knowledge they gained to others in the name of Jesus.
