January 15, 2010 - Earthquake Update 3
Our in-country coordinator, Ronald Jonas, just called his wife in Miami. Again, he could only speak for a very short time, but he confirmed that all of our teenagers are safe and accounted for (not so much as a scratch on anyone). She and I assumed that the teachers have also been accounted for or he would have said something.
He says that the school is totally destroyed along with all of the other buildings along Route 2 (the main road that runs from Port-au-Prince past Pastor's house and the church/school).
He said that, although, the buildings are all destroyed, everyone is relatively OK being outside and that they still are managing to eat what food they had on hand when the quake occurred on Tuesday. He did not mention water, but we are hoping they are OK on that front.
Good news on our personal struggle to bring Darline home!!! The Associated Press has accepted our story and is going feature our plight "prominently" in an article to be syndicated around the country. PLEASE PRAY THAT THOSE IN POSITIONS OF POWER TO BRING HER HOME DO SO QUICKLY!!!
Associated Press is sending a photographer to our house today at 3:00pm to take a photo for a story they are going to syndicate throughout the country about our struggle to bring Darline home!!!!!
The reporter doing the story is in Indianapolis (as is the attorney/lobbyist friend of my little sister's who is helping us gratis!!!). PLEASE PRAY FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT TO SPEAK THROUGH JERRY AND I SO THAT EVERYTHING THAT IS SAID WILL POSITIVELY INFLUENCE OUR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND PRESIDENT PREVAL TO RELEASE HER AND THE OTHER CHILDREN AWAITING ADOPTION FINALIZATION IN HAITI.
Thanks again, so much, for your love, support and prayers. We remain in prayer for all of those who are still suffering and unaccounted for in Haiti and those who love them and are bearing the excruciating pain of waiting.
