PROMISED PROVISION MINISTRIES
GOD PROMISES PROVISION AFTER EARTHQUAKE ROCKS HAITI

February 1 , 2010 - Earthquake Update 12

While we enjoyed a relatively quiet weekend, Roody has been gearing up for helping relocate another 36 orphaned infants (verified by the orphanage directors with whom he is working to, indeed, be orphans). In light of what happened over the weekend with the group of people who were accused of trafficking children, we ask you to hold Roody and Danita up in prayer as they press on with plans to move these babies to safety.

Roody also spent Friday evening transporting kiddie chairs with attached desktops for Mission World Chairs to assist them with setting up a location for a clinic and feeding station designed to care for the smallest children.  The clinic will open on Monday and will provide medical care, some play time and food for the children.  Roody is hopeful that these kids will be able to enjoy themselves and to feel like kids again, if only for a little while.  PLEASE PRAY FOR ROODY AS HE CONTINUES TO SACRIFICE SO MUCH IN SERVICE TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER.  ALSO, PLEASE PRAY FOR HIS WIFE, SHERRY, AS SHE FIGHTS TO REMAIN FINANCIALLY AFLOAT DURING HIS PROLONGED ABSENCE.

Our missionary Susan is hard at work coordinating the shipping for baby formula donated to us.  The donor has generously offered to ship it to south Florida where it will then be sent via a missions plane to Port-au-Prince.  PLEASE PRAY FOR SUSAN AS SHE STRUGGLES WITH THE LOGISTICS OF MOVING CARGO INTO HAITI.

We were also blessed to be able to include with the shipment baby bottles generously donated by Balm Baptist Church in Balm, Florida, as well as toiletries and other emergency supplies to our teens and their "honorary grandfather", brother Andre Mathurin, in Leogane.  We pray that these supplies will ease their suffering as they struggle with daily life in a crowded, unsanitary tent city,  We also hope that a few personal cards and notes from our missionaries and my daughter, Darline, will bring a few smiles.

Meanwhile, our missionary, Robin, has set about the arduous task of trying to figure out how we can adequately care for our youth since we no longer have any facilities in Haiti.  Our young people have all been in Pastor Joseph's and/or Promised Provision's care for numerous years.  Under the present conditions, neither Pastor nor Roody have the time or resources to properly care for them.  Of all of our children, we have determined that Sandra (our youngest and one who is in need of on-going medical care) is the most at-risk for trafficking, disease, starvation, etc.  These kids very survival could depends on our success in securing safe haven for them. PLEASE PRAY FOR ROBIN AS SHE WORKS FOR THE SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF THE YOUNG PEOPLE IN OUR CARE.

Missionary Jessica, my assistant, is doing all that she can to help Darline settle in to her new surroundings and to help Jerry and I maintain our household.  She and Darline have already had a "girls' night" sleepover and are planning an outting to a church youth group meeting this Wednesday as well as a shopping excursion.  PLEASE PRAY FOR JESSICA AS SHE CONTINUES TO HELP "HOLD DOWN THE FORT" FOR ME AND MY FAMILY DURING THESE TRYING TIMES.

Our Treasurer, Arthur, and missionary Mindy are carefully documenting donations and determining how we can provide the best stewardship of the funds God has entrusted to us.  We have already done SO MUCH with relatively little.   PLEASE PRAY FOR ART & MINDY AS THEY CONTINUE TO SEEK GOD'S DISCERNMENT AND WISDOM IN STEWARDSHIP.

Pastor Joseph is now armed with insulin lovingly hand-delivered by our own Pastor Wayne and his son-in-law, Tommy. This has enabled him to press on in his tireless efforts to account for all of his parishioners in Leogane and up on the mountain.  Roody tells us that his dad's daily challenge is attempting to secure food and other necessities for his folks while simultaneously ministering to their spiritual needs in the face of such massive destruction and death.  PLEASE PRAY FOR STRENGTH AND ENDURANCE FOR PASTOR JOSEPH AS HE SEEKS TO SERVE LIKE JESUS IN THE WAKE OF THIS TERRIBLE TRAGEDY.

WE ALL WANT TO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR LOVE, PRAYERS, AND SUPPORT.  If you wish to donate, or have already donated, you may want to take advantage of a newly-enacted tax law, House of Representatives bill H.R. 4462 passed on January 20, 2010.  Charitable contributions to assist with the Haiti relief efforts can be claimed as itemized charitable deductions on your 2009 tax return within certain guidelines.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO HOLD THOSE WE SERVE IN HAITI IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS AND JOIN US IN PRAYING FOR A SWEEPNG REVIVAL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN HAITI.  Our brothers and sisters, dear to our hearts, are suffering and our hearts ache as we receive news of their experiences during and since the earthquake.  What has the potential to quickly become yesterday's news to many, has forever changed the course of their lives and it will be years before their lives return to some semblance of normalcy.  Together, with consistent care and caring, we can help them achieve their dreams for their futures and for the future of their country.

May You Be Abundantly Blessed and May God Continue to Bless Others Through You.
