ANDRE MATHURIN - 64 YEARS OLD - EYE SURGERY REQUIRED

Amazing Opportunity to Purchase Land for Village in Haiti- We Need YOUR Help!Andre Mathurin
64 years old -- Eye Surgery Required
(in his own words, translated)

I was born in 1944 in Leogane, Haiti. I have no children and have been separated from my wife for many years. I worked as a farmer and bicycle repairman by trade all my life. I accepted Christ in 1965 and in 1966 married a Christian woman, but after years of disagreement, she left and I am alone.

I started to have eye problems about 15 years ago.  In 2006, an eye doctor diagnosed me with glaucoma but I could not afford to go back due to finances and poor vision to see where I was going.  Today, my life is paralyzed due to my blindness.  I only see a little light and some shadows.  I suffer no other illness; I can walk and am in good health.

I cannot work to support myself or farm the small garden I ate from for many years.  I cannot get around on my own because I can’t see.  The hardest  thing  for me is  having to rely on  other people for my food.  Most people do not have enough food for themselves or their children, so I do not eat every day.

If I can recover my eyesight, that would mean life itself to me!  I can resume my activities like going to church and working in the farm to support myself.  My calling as a Christian is to go around town meeting with and praying for people, something I am not able to do now because I can’t see.  I am looking forward to resuming my personal ministry as an intercessor if I can recover my sight.

Promised Provision blessed me with visiting an eye doctor on April 17, 2009.  The tests show that I still suffer with glaucoma and now also have cataracts. The ophthalmologist is certain that I can recover my sight if I can surgically get my cataracts removed and take medications to control the glaucoma.

I am grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and His saving grace, because the help I get today is through my church connection, Pastor Joseph of Bethesda Ministry, and Sister Rebecca and the missionaries of Promised Provision.  I am also grateful that you care about me.

NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT, REBECCA WILLIAMS –

I met with Brother Mathurin in March 2009 to assess his condition.  Despite his dismal circumstances, he always sports a smile.  His lack of sight has led to complete dependence on others and almost total isolation.  He is malnourished and unable to adequately meet his personal hygiene needs due to lack of funds and lack of ability to see in a mirror.  The anticipated cost of the surgery required to return his eyesight is $1983.00 (a projected return to 90% vision in the right eye and 75% in the left eye).  You have a marvelous opportunity to manifest God’s love to Mathurin.  Won’t you reach and help restore his life to him.?

May You Be Abundantly Blessed and May God Continue to Bless Others Through You,
Rebecca Williams
